India sweeps series 3-0 against Zimbabwe with 35-run victory; Sooryavanshi smashes 81(49)

India completed a 3-0 T20I series whitewash over Zimbabwe with a 35-run victory at the Harare Sports Club. Opting to bat first, India posted a strong total of 192/5 in their 20 overs, heavily driven by 15-year-old opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Sooryavanshi smashed 81 off 49 balls, featuring eight fours and four sixes, while Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, and Rinku Singh added valuable runs to build an imposing total.

In response, Zimbabwe faced early setbacks as Mayank Yadav dismissed Brian Bennett on the first ball of the innings, followed by top-order strikes from Yash Thakur and Ashok Sharma. Ryan Burl mounted a lone fightback with a 42-ball half-century, building a 60-run partnership with Wesley Madhevere. However, disciplined spells from Mayank Yadav and the Indian bowling unit restricted Zimbabwe to 157/7, sealing a comprehensive victory.

The series win offered much-needed momentum for Shreyas Iyer's side following a winless tour against Ireland and England. The triumph also secured India's first 3-0 T20I bilateral series sweep over Zimbabwe since 2010 and reaffirmed their position at the top of the ICC T20I rankings. Sooryavanshi was named both Player of the Match and Player of the Series for his outstanding batting performances.
